I think that this is something most of us do on a regular basis, it has become normal to compare our careers, our looks, our knowledge or even our Instagram-Followers to other’s. Comparison has become normal but it can be poisonous. We may start trying to become like the ones we are comparing ourselves to, because we see that they are successful in what they do and we want that successful too, but we never took the time to think that they also go through a difficult phase in life. We focus more on their good side, which is good but not as good as you think.
Most of the time, we compare ourselves to people who secretly try to be known as “The Cool Kids”. But by doing so, we forget our own uniqueness. We have so many traits which are so wonderful, important and only we have, but we will suppress them or see them as unimportant when comparing ourselves to others. So my advice would be to really not compare yourself to anyone. We are all special, God made us different for a reason, it really doesn’t matter who has more money, more friends, more likes or gets more acknowledgement, as life is about being happy and appreciate the little moments, because that is what life is all about.
